JOHN WHAPHAM
Mr. Whapham has been the Theatre Arts Teacher and Director at Sycamore High School for over 20 years. He teaches Acting and Technical Theatre courses at SHS. In 2012, Mr. Whapham received the Outstanding Theatre Educator Award from the Cincinnati Enquirer.
Mr. Whapham is a licensed Theatre and Music Teacher with an undergraduate degree from Miami University and a Master's Degree from Xavier University.
Before coming to Sycamore, Mr. Whapham was the Theatre Director of Herndon High School, a Fairfax County public school, just outside of Washington, D.C.
Since coming to Sycamore, Mr. Whapham has founded and continues to run a successful summer theatre camp for grades 1-8, as well as a regional high school summer theatre program.
Mr. Whapham and his wife Seana, are the proud parents of four Aviator Alumni.
